Our approach to privacy
Komakode Inc. (“KomaKode,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) develops DebtScope, ScoreKeep, PlateWise, and DevDoctor, and operates komakode.com. We collect and use only the information needed to provide, maintain, and improve these products. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you use our apps or website, why it is used, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
1. Scope
This policy applies to:
- DebtScope for iPhone and iPad;
- ScoreKeep for iPhone and iPad;
- PlateWise for iPhone and iPad;
- DevDoctor for macOS, currently in development;
- komakode.com; and
- communications you send directly to KomaKode.
2. Product overview
| Product | Account required? | Important privacy points |
|---|---|---|
| DebtScope | No | Financial data remains separate from optional, limited purchase analytics. |
| ScoreKeep | No | Baseball scoring data is used to provide the app’s features. |
| PlateWise | Yes | Supports email/password, Sign in with Apple, and Continue with Google. Structured text requests may be sent to Google Gemini for specific app features. |
| DevDoctor | No | Project data is analyzed locally and is not transmitted to KomaKode. |
3. Information we handle
Information you provide directly
We may receive information when you contact us for support, ask a question, report a problem, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include your name, email address, message, and any information you choose to include.
Account information
PlateWise is currently the only KomaKode app that supports user accounts. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, we may receive information such as your name, email address, or an account identifier needed to authenticate and maintain your account.
If you use Sign in with Apple and choose “Hide My Email,” Apple provides a private relay email address instead of your personal email address. If you use Continue with Google, Google provides the information needed to sign you in, subject to the permissions you approve.
App content and locally stored data
Our apps may store information you enter, import, or create so the app can perform its intended function. Except where this policy specifically says otherwise, app content is not sent to KomaKode.
Device permissions
An app may request access to a device feature, such as files or photos, when that access is needed for a feature you choose to use. The operating system asks for permission before access is granted. You can review or change permissions in your device settings.
Purchase information
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. KomaKode does not receive your full payment-card information. Apple may provide purchase status and related transaction information needed to unlock or restore a purchase.
4. Product-specific details
DebtScope
DebtScope is designed to keep your financial information on your device. Account names, balances, interest rates, payments, transactions, imported documents, and similar financial information are used to provide the app's features and are not routinely transmitted to KomaKode.
The only information normally sent to KomaKode is optional purchase analytics that help us ensure purchases and restores work reliably. These analytics are not linked to your identity and never include your financial data.
Optional purchase analytics. Unless you turn off Share purchase analytics, DebtScope may send limited purchase-related events to KomaKode. These events help us understand whether the paywall is shown and whether Apple StoreKit product-loading, purchase, or restore flows succeed, fail, are canceled, remain pending, are unverified, or return no purchase.
Purchase analytics may include:
- a random app-generated installation identifier;
- app version and build number;
- device platform and operating-system major/minor version;
- purchase-funnel event name and paywall source;
- StoreKit product-loading, purchase, or restore result;
- storefront country when needed to diagnose StoreKit reliability;
- distribution channel, such as TestFlight or production; and
- the time the event was received by the server.
The installation identifier is hashed on the server before storage. Purchase analytics do not include financial account names, payees, transaction amounts, balances, imported document names, user-entered financial text, Apple ID, email address, name, assistant prompts or responses, raw database records, or backup contents.
Purchase analytics are sent to KomaKode infrastructure at komakode.com and stored using Cloudflare D1. They are used privately for product reliability and purchase-funnel measurement, not for advertising or tracking across apps or websites.
You can disable this at any time in DebtScope > Settings > Data & Privacy > Share purchase analytics.
ScoreKeep
ScoreKeep stores baseball scoring, roster, team, and game information on your device so it can provide the app's scoring features. ScoreKeep does not require a KomaKode account and does not collect or transmit your data to KomaKode or third parties as part of its normal operation.
If you choose to export or share a scorebook or other game information, that sharing occurs only because you initiated it.
PlateWise
PlateWise supports user accounts created with email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Continue with Google. Account information is used to authenticate you, maintain your account, and provide account-related app features.
Google Gemini. PlateWise uses Google’s Gemini service for specific app features. PlateWise creates structured text requests based on the feature being used and sends those requests to Gemini for processing. Users do not send free-form chat conversations to Gemini through PlateWise, and PlateWise does not send photos to Gemini.
The structured request may include information needed to perform the feature. Google processes that request as a service provider under Google’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
You may request deletion of your PlateWise account and associated personal information by contacting [email protected]. If you use Sign in with Apple or Continue with Google, you may also revoke PlateWise’s access through your Apple or Google account settings.
DevDoctor
DevDoctor analyzes project information locally on your Mac. KomaKode does not receive or transmit your project data. DevDoctor does not require a KomaKode account.
5. komakode.com
KomaKode does not knowingly enable advertising trackers or behavioral analytics on komakode.com. We do not knowingly use website cookies to build advertising profiles or track visitors across unrelated websites.
The website is delivered using Cloudflare services. Cloudflare may process basic technical information—such as an IP address, request details, device or browser information, and security-related data—as necessary to deliver, protect, and operate the website. Cloudflare’s handling of that information is governed by its own privacy practices.
If website analytics, forms, embedded services, or other features are added later, this policy will be updated to describe them.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide the requested service, to maintain security and business records, or to meet legal obligations.
Information stored locally in an app generally remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app, or use an available deletion feature. Deleting an app may not remove copies you separately backed up through Apple or another backup service.
PlateWise account information is retained while the account is active and for a limited period afterward when needed for security, legal compliance, or account-deletion processing.
DebtScope purchase analytics are retained only for product-reliability and purchase-funnel analysis and are deleted or anonymized when no longer reasonably needed for those purposes.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information under our control. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact [email protected] so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
10. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we maintain about you. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will respond as required by applicable law.
You can also exercise certain choices directly:
- change app permissions in your device settings;
- disable DebtScope purchase analytics in DebtScope settings;
- manage App Store purchases through your Apple account;
- revoke Sign in with Apple or Continue with Google access in the applicable account settings; and
- request deletion of a PlateWise account by contacting us.
Because KomaKode does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out to process.
11. International processing
KomaKode is based in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal grounds and safeguards for international transfers.
For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar jurisdictions, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, consent, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving our products, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our products, practices, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when the policy was most recently revised. Material changes may also be communicated in an app, on our website, or by another appropriate method.
